Human contact habituates animals

"This year it has been unusual because we've had so many encounters. It's mostly bears going into people's back yards"

  1. I don’t think that human can cohabitate with wildlife without tragedies as animal attacks. I live in Quebec and I just coming back from my holidays spend at Canmore, AB.
Yesterday afternoon, I received a phone call from my sister living on Lawrence Grassi in Canmore. She could not stop crying. Her small dog was attacked by a coyote during the day at 3h30 pm. I just can’t believe it… The house door was open. The dog was on the balcony. The dog yapped and a few seconds later, no more noise. She ran outside and looked around and no more dog. She saw a neighbour not far from her house and asked him if he saw her dog. Unfortunately, he said that he just saw a coyote with a domestic animal in its mouth. Bye LuLu (her dog name). I’m so sad. Her dog may be save her life and her daughter life… Wildlife is too familiar with human. Be careful, kids can be in danger anytime and need a constant adult supervision when they are playing outside even close to the house.
